Welcome to u3a Waiheke

u3a Waiheke is a community of people on Waiheke Island who share a love of learning, exploring ideas and discovering new interests — and enjoy doing it together.

Our Study Groups and Shared Interest Groups bring people together to delve into subjects that interest them, share knowledge and experience, exchange ideas and sometimes venture into entirely new territory. Our interests span art, architecture and design; music; New Zealand history and philosophy; the physical and medical sciences; cosmology and the universe; and the issues shaping our world today.

We also meet each month to hear from invited speakers on an ever-changing range of topics — another opportunity to learn something new, meet people and be part of the u3a Waiheke community.

At the heart of u3a is a simple idea: learning is lifelong. There are no exams and no qualifications to earn. Members learn from one another, contribute what they know and follow their curiosity wherever it takes them.
